Be Empowered to Help Your Children

Children are not born with social and emotional skills. As parents and guardians, we are our children’s first teachers. We can model and teach social and emotional skills:

Self-awareness
Self-management
Social awareness (Empathy)
Relationship skills
Responsible
decision-making

Emotional Intelligence: From A Parent's Perspective

Parents know their children best, and are their child’s first teacher. They feel deeply responsible for their child’s well-being and success in school, and in life. They know that learning has social, emotional, cognitive and academic dimensions for their child to be most successful.

As the local expert in emotional intelligence, Frameworks builds on the five core competencies of social and emotional learning: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and empathy, responsible decision-making, and positive relationship building. A strong foundation of these life skills will provide the strategies and tools for children to reach their full potential. This video features reflections from parents and guardians who have seen first-hand the positive impact of emotional intelligence taught by Frameworks of Tampa Bay in the lives of their children.

Family Workshops

At Frameworks, we empower adults to help children build these skills that our children need for personal, social, academic, and one day professional success.

Each workshop offers user-friendly tips and tools so that parents and guardians leave with a plan. Workshops are tailored to meet your goals and can be held in person or virtually, in English or in Spanish. Workshops can be held as one-time learning opportunities or as a series.

It was good for me to hear that it’s ok to focus on one goal at a time with the kids and myself. Try not to accomplish too much too soon. It’s ok to go at a slow pace. This is all new and to be patient with all these mixed feelings. Thank you so much for your time and these tools.
