Why These Five Hillsborough County Public Schools Need Emotional Intelligence Programming

Corr, Temple Terrace, Mort, Booker T. Washington, and Twin Lakes Elementary Schools serve communities where many children face significant barriers to academic and emotional success.

These schools are in high-need areas of Hillsborough County, where families are disproportionately impacted by poverty, housing instability, and limited access to mental health resources.

According to recent district and Florida Department of Education data:

  • 80–95% of students qualify for free/reduced-price lunch
  • Higher-than-average absenteeism and behavioral referrals
  • Low kindergarten readiness and emotional regulation skills
  • Teachers feel unprepared to meet students’ emotional needs

The Solution: Emotional Intelligence Education

Frameworks of Tampa Bay EQuips students, educators, and caregivers with the tools and strategies to build self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and responsible decision-making— the critical skills proven to improve behavior, academic performance, and overall well-being.

Our programs transform classrooms into connected, supportive environments—but now, this work is at risk.

The Campaign: $100,000 to Keep the Work Going

Due to the end of a three-year funding contract, these five schools are at risk of losing access to Frameworks’ life-changing services. We are launching an urgent $100,000 fundraising campaign to ensure this support continues without interruption for the 2025 school year.
